Keeping your Commercial Vehicle on the Road this Winter

When it comes to running your commercial vehicle this winter it can be hard to ensure that your vehicle stays on the road during the cold weather especially in snow or icy conditions. Below we have come up with our top tips for keeping your commercial vehicle on the road during the winter whilst keeping you safe and your costs down.

Keeping your Commercial Vehicle Safe

Keep your vehicle safe – Using a van for work can be hugely beneficial, especially if you have heavy tools you need to lug around on a daily basis. The only problem is that there are some untrustworthy people out there that will do anything for money so if you leave your tools in your van overnight they are not necessarily safe. One third of white van men may actually be white van women. A survey recently conducted by AXA Business Insurance on van drivers found that one third of them were women using their vans for commercial activities.
The stereotype
Van drivers have commonly been held as the subject of the white van man stereotype. In British (tongue-in-cheek) popular culture, the white van man is considered rough round the edges, handy, often bald, two sugars in his tea and wielding an impressive hardware collection.. oh and he’s a […]

Increase in Catalytic Converter Thefts

Organised Crime
It was reported that, between January 1st and the end of May there were 249 thefts, compared to 47 in the same five months last year. These catalytic converter attacks have been located around Leicestershire and a large number of those with commercial van insurance have been falling victim to the thefts.
The police believe that […]

British Gas Spark Interest in Nissan e-NV200 Electric Vans

Last week British Gas completed a trial with one of Nissan’s prototype electric vehicles. As one of the UK’s leading energy provider, British Gas has a large fleet of vans which travel across the country to various customers. In order to hopefully minimise their impact on the environment, the company tested the Nissan e-NV200 van by having it shadow their current vans on a normal working day, from depots in Newbury and Leicester.
Putting the Van to the Test
In order to determine whether Nissan’s electric van […]
