Van hire Company raises money for Charity

Generally, van hire companies are always on the lookout for ways to save money for not only themselves but also their customers, as customers that want to hire out vans generally pick the company that offers the cheapest deals. Most van hire companies offer competitive prices, and some even include van insurance and break-down cover as part of their pricing plans. However, one van hire company has recently been trying to raise money for charity due to the fact that their Christmas themed commercial vehicles proved to be extremely popular on social media sites.

The Jolly Good Van Hire in Shrewsbury noticed that during the Christmas period there was an increase in the amount of tweets and liked on their Facebook pages due to the fact that people were commenting on the ‘Jolly Good Santa sleighs’ seen on the road. The vans all had a picture of Santa on the side, and many people would take to social media sites every time they spotted one, which gave the company the idea to donate money to the Shropshire children’s hospice every time someone mentioned the vans.

Now, Jason King from the Jolly Good Van Hire in Shrewsbury and Mark Hughes from the company’ s head office in Wrexham are appealing to the public to help them achieve their goal of raising two thousand pounds for the hospice. Every time someone tweets about the vans they donate £1 to the charity, and their total is so far £1,712. Discussing the donations, Mr King said: “We had a fantastic response to the red vans which were liveried up in time for Christmas with Father Christmas on the side.”

“People said it put a smile on their face when they saw them out on the roads and made them even happier knowing they were helping such a good cause as Hope House by just clicking a mouse. It was great to raise £1,712 but we would really like to hit the £2,000 mark. We are now asking anyone who perhaps has not yet given to charity this year or has raised money through an event but has not yet earmarked a charity to help us reach our target.”

“Hope House in Oswestry and Ty-Gobaith in North Wales are fantastic places which really are a lifeline for so many families at such a difficult time. The staff provide amazing specialist nursing care and support to life-limited children and young people from across such a huge area and every penny makes that job just a little bit easier.”
