Van Fleet World has confirmed the great popularity of the Peugeot Bipper, by naming it the ‘Best Light Van’ of 2012. Many businesses have taken to using the Bipper as some of its best features include its compactness, HDi diesel engines and transmissions, a load volume of 2.5m3 and a payload of up to 660kg.
The Van Fleet World Honours are given to those within the van industry that achieved exceptional levels of excellence. Many van companies, manufacturers, van drivers, and commercial van insurance providers will be interested in the reception and recognition of various vans.
Ross Durkin is the Managing Editor of Fleet World and he commented on the light commercial van sector, saying “The LCV manufacturers continue to produce some first-class vans which every year seem to get better in terms of safety, environmental performance, reliability and whole-life cost. As well as traditionally powered vans we are now seeing the emergence of a growing number of electric vehicles and this exciting market sector promises much in the future. We are also delighted to recognise the excellent quality of some of the industry’s key fleet service providers in this year’s awards.”
Peugeot’s LCV Product Manager, Jonathan Bates said about their victory “The Bipper is a terrific light commercial van and thoroughly deserves to be the ‘Best Light Van 2012’. Winning this prestigious award is yet another demonstration of the importance we place in product excellence with good customer support and after sales service.”
The Peugeot Bipper
The Bipper is a light commercial van that has been so well received that a ‘professional’ version was created, in order to cater for businesses. Additional features included air conditioning, half-height bulkhead and Bluetooth installation. With its robust and agile abilities, it is perfect for journeys throughout urban areas.
It is also one of the more economic LCV provided by Peugeot, thanks to the HDi Diesel engine. This engine allows the vehicle to emit 20% less carbon dioxide and 40% less carbon monoxide as well as 50% fewer hydrocarbons. With the ability to use 30% biodiesel fuel, Peugeot have stated it can give drivers a 20% saving on consumption which is financially beneficial as it means fewer fuel refills.
