Volkswagen releases special edition of Caddy van

The Volkswagen Caddy van is an iconic commercial vehicle that most small van drivers will have some experience with during their careers. This is probably down to the fact that the Caddy has been on the small commercial vehicle market for thirty years now, and to celebrate this Volkswagen have released a special limited edition version of the vehicle for those true Caddy enthusiasts.

It has been reported that only 117 special edition units are being made, so those that are interested will want to buy one as soon as possible. The “Caddy Edition 30” will be on sale in both manual and automatic versions, with the manual starting at £17,660 and the automatic at £19,060 (excluding VAT). Both versions come with a 2.0 litre engine that provides 140 horse power, meaning that it can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 10 seconds with a manual gearbox, and 10.1 with the automatic.

Furthermore, the Caddy Edition 30 is great value for money as it can achieve 47.1 miles per gallon for the manual version, and 44.8 miles per gallon for the DSG transmission model. Unfortunately, the vehicle isn’t too environmentally friendly as the manual model has a CO2 emission of 158 grams per kilometre whilst the DSG models emit 166, although Volkswagen have said that this is actually lower than previous Caddy models.

The exterior of the vehicle includes traditional Candy White paintwork generally associated with the model, along with body-coloured bumpers, a black roof, roof rails contrasting, door handles and door mirrors. Furthermore, the exterior is equipped with chrome grille detailing, front fog lights, the “Edition 30” logo, and 17-inch “Budapest” alloy wheels.
Inside the vehicle there is Alcantara leather upholstery for DSG model, a leather steering wheel, and features such as adjustable heights for the driver’s and passenger’s seats, Bluetooth connectivity, electronically adjustable & heated door mirrors, and Climatic air conditioning.

If you are thinking on investing in one of these cars make sure you contact your van insurance provider first, as the vehicle is so limited edition you will want to make sure that it is covered against any damages or theft.
