Zurich has won an award for its Fleet Intelligence which recognises innovation in service. Zurich Fleet Intelligence will help firms to improve their fleet operations and manage their risk. Launched in the United Kingdom less than two years ago, Fleet Intelligence goes beyond the normal telematics products on offer at the moment, offering an easy-to-implement, integrated solution.
It combines vehicle telematics technology that has been fully tested and includes helpful reporting and driver development tools. The information helps fleet managers improve safety, reduce operating costs and cut environmental impact by cutting fuel consumption and the wear and tear of the commercial vehicle. Onboard telematics technology will allow a fleet manager to monitor and assess their driver behaviour at the same time as gathering data that could help them to get a better deal when looking for a cheap van insurance quote.
The technology tracks and measures both vehicle and driver behaviour on a continuous basis and the fleet manager then gets the resulting data via a web portal. This data gives an insight that can then be used for driver training. Many customers in the United Kingdom have seen a quick return on their investment. Within six months, fuel savings of up to 15% can be easily achieved as a result of newly adapted behaviour by the drivers. In the same time period, collisions, minor incidents, damage to a company’s own vehicles and third party costs can all be reduced by a significant percentage.
Nick List, Zurich Fleet Intelligence proposition manager, said: “We are delighted that Zurich Fleet Intelligence has been recognised by Celent with an ‘Innovation in Service’ Award. We are constantly developing our products and services to meet the needs of our customers. The feedback from organisations has been very positive so far because the proposition helps customers to increase driver safety which can in turn deliver cost savings. This benefit is especially important in these challenging economic times.”
