Even though the amount of new registrations for commercial vehicles has decreased in the UK recently, it doesn’t mean that fleet operators are not always on the lookout for new vehicles which can help them reduce costs. Furthermore, as most companies are extremely careful when it comes to spending money right now, new vans need to not only save fleet operators money but also be reliable enough that they last a number of years.
This is why one businessman recently decided to replace all the vehicles in his fleet to Mercedes-Benz Vitos after he attended the Mercedes-Benz Van Experience show last year and saw how their products could benefit his business. Mr Smith, founder of the Cardiff company Concept Fire & Security, said: “I had an excellent day at Van Experience. Having driven Mercedes-Benz vehicles and seen for myself how much better they are than other makes of vehicle, particularly in terms of their brilliant safety systems, I’d never go back now.”
“I came away determined to move my whole fleet across to Mercedes-Benz as soon as possible. Not only are they much safer, they’re also driver-friendly in terms of both comfort and practicality, while the prestigious brand image can only reinforce our own company’s reputation for quality.” Meanwhile, Scottish engineering and buildings services company, Richard Irvin Services Group, has recently bought 275 Nissan vans after drivers praised their handling, performance and fuel economy.
George Robb, procurement director at Richard Irvin Services Group, said: “We’re currently going through a period of investing in our people and capital and this deal marks an integral part of this strategy. We took a product rather than price led selection approach by making sure our drivers tested the vehicles first to ensure they were fit for purpose and we’re happy the feedback so far from the drivers has been so positive.”
Meanwhile, the Nissan corporate sales director Barry Beeston said: “The NV200 and Primastar are ideal vans for any business requiring comfortable and reliable transport capable of covering large distances. We now look forward to supporting Richard Irvin Services Group over the coming months as more vans are delivered.” It seems as though commercial vehicle manufacturers who are really making the effort to provide reliable vehicles that provide cheap vehicle insurance, great fuel economy and reliability are still managing to do well even during these tough times.
